Madé van Krimpen presents in situ by Rikkert Paauw

22.05.2025 - 28.06.2025

Opening May 22, from 5 to 9 pm

Rikkert Paauw works in situ in more ways than one. His practice is shaped by chance encounters with locally found materials and a patient process of collecting, discovering, and transforming objects on site.

For his show at Madé van Krimpen, Paauw will create an on-site installation while residing in the gallery. Each day, he will collect overlooked objects from the city of Amsterdam, using them to build the exhibition as the time unfolds.

Paauw works as an artist, designer, and architect, composing and reshaping spaces and objects through their existing surroundings. Whether as on-site installations or creations for the home. His patient, careful selections and combinations reflect a sustainable, critical, and simple way of working.

Rikkert Paauw was born in 1982 in Soest, The Netherlands. He currently lives and works in Brussels, Belgium.
