“Still Life” shortlisted for the Arles Les Rencontres de la Photographie 2023 book award

In collaboration with Art Paper Editions, the gallery has produced a book titled "Still Life" dedicated to Helena van der Kraan's still life photography. The images were selected to complement the 2022 Van der Kraan exhibition held in the gallery. We are honored to announce that this book by Art Paper Editions is nominated for the Arles Les Rencontres de la Photographie 2023 book award.

Helena van der Kraan (1940 - 2020) was a photographer born in Prague, Czech Republic In her late 20s, she fled to the Netherlands and studied visual arts in Amsterdam, with a focus on photography that depicts her sculptural work. Her timeless and classic works include portraits, still lifes, and animals, all captured through black and white photos that prompt reflection on ordinary items in life.
